Jack Marquez

Jack Marquez is an HPC Workflows Research Scientist and a member of the Workflows and Ecosystem Services group at ORNL. His work focuses on scientific workflows, HPC reproducibility, and in-situ analytics for molecular dynamics.

Before joining his current role, he spent four years at the Global Computing Lab at the University of Tennessee, where he contributed to research in high-performance computing and workflow systems. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering in 2022 from Universidad Autónoma de Occidente in Cali, Colombia, where he had previously earned his B.Sc. in Informatics Engineering in 2013. He began his academic career there as a researcher in 2013 and later served as an adjunct professor starting in 2016.

In addition to his academic experience, he has worked as a software engineer for both national and international companies. His research interests include scientific workflows, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and performance optimization.
